BACKGROUND<\/h3>\n

As a child, I did ballet and gymnastics. As an adult, I discovered pole dancing, which immediately became my thing. I progressed quickly in the sport. I started directing, performing and competing already a year after starting the hobby.<\/p>\n

After a few years, aerial acrobatics came along. I taught myself that. That's how I progressed until I became the Finnish champion of ring trapeze.<\/p>\n

I had been teaching pole dancing and aerial acrobatics for approx. 7 years when I decided to get myself a qualification in my profession and applied to the circus line of the Turku Academy of Arts.
The last four years were spent there.<\/p>\n

I studied aerial acrobatics and handstand as my main sports. My studies also included comprehensive acrobatics studies and teacher's pedagogical studies.<\/p>\n

Along with my studies, I taught pole dancing, aerial acrobatics and circus classes in several different places. So I have already accumulated more than 10 years of experience as a director.<\/p>\n

Now I'm back in Tampere and working life! At Legend Trick Gym, I teach e.g. the basics of tricks, acrobatics and, of course, aerial acrobatics with fabrics for both beginners and advanced students.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

GUIDED BY GOALS<\/h3>\n

I think teaching is a calling and I have felt a calling to teach since the beginning of my pole dancing hobby.<\/p>\n

In addition to the vocation, a large amount of skill is naturally also required. Tricks and techniques and various progression exercises to get there. The ability to break down the movement or sequence of movements to be taught at any given time into small parts, and to explain, show or demonstrate it to students in such a way that students with different learning strategies understand it.<\/p>\n

It is important for me to pay attention to each student personally in each of my classes and to offer each student exercises or variations of the movement or set of movements practiced in the class according to their own level. My goal is to create the joy of learning and experiences of success for every student. I rejoice and get excited with the students about their successes and I encourage and cheer them on if they experience failures.<\/p>\n

A safe work environment and way of working are important to me. In my lessons, I make sure that the equipment is properly hung and that there is a landing mat under each equipment. High-risk stunts are always practiced with the help of a spotter using correct spotting technique.
I want to be a safe and reliable teacher for my students, also on a spiritual level. To be approachable and to present my instructions and correction suggestions in a friendly, encouraging and constructive manner.<\/p>\n
